The Importance of the Signature Card

Why is your signature card so important? A signature card bears the signature of anyone authorized to write checks or transact business on an account. The cards are kept on file at the Bank for reference.

Signature cards are used for subsequent identification of the customer by comparing the customer’s signature with the signature on the card, say in the event of a transaction in question. Under law, only those listed on the card have the authority to conduct business on that account. If you think that you need to update your signature card, please let us know.
