Entries are limited to schools, civic clubs & organizations, chambers of commerce, churches, local fund raisers, etc.; however, personal entries are excluded. We recommend sending your info at least 14 days prior to the event date. There is no guarantee implied or otherwise made that your event will be included and publishing thereof is at the sole discretion of BSB. March

29: Brookville American Legion Post 77 is holding a fish fry. 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. This event is open to the public. Dine in or carry out. Cost is $10 for 2 pieces of cod, potato wedges and coleslaw. Extra fish $3/piece.

29: Brookville Knights of Columbus Lenten Fish Fry. 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Serving baked or fried fish, green beans, cole slaw, baked potato, sweet potato, French fries, dessert.

31: Liberty Lions Clun Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Whitewater Memorial State Park. Time is 2 p.m. sharp on Easter Sunday.

 

April

5-7: The Franklin County High School drama department will present Shrek the Musical. Call the high school for ticket information.

6: Blessed Growth' Children's Clothing & Toy Sale will be held April 6th from 8 a.m. - Noon, with pre-sale beginning at 7 a.m. for $3 per person. Shop 4,000 sq. feet of gently used children's clothing, shoes, toys and baby essentials at St. Michael's School in Brookville, Indiana.

7: Hagerstown Eclipse Night Parade. Join the fun in Hagerstown for the lighted night parade. The parade begins at the Hagerstown High School at 8:15 p.m. Want to enter a float? Visit this link

8: The Solar Eclipse. During the solar eclipse, the moon will block the sun for 3 minutes; the sky will be as dark as twilight; and stars will be visible. Sixty-two Indiana counties will be in the path of the total eclipse. Indiana is expected to be the second most popular spot for solar eclipse visitors after Texas. Please note that BSB will be closed this day. Please visit our ATMs or use online/mobile banking; however, please note that due to anticipated traffic within the local county area that the area's communication grid might be unstable that day.

18-19-20: Union County High School Musical "Newsies" to perform at the school's auditorium. April 18th = 6 p.m.; April 19th = 7 p.m., and April 20 = 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Advance tickets at the school. Call UCHS at 765-458-5136 for tickets.

20: The Whitewater Canal Trail and Trout Unlimited will be participating on Saturday April 20th. They will meet at Moster Turf on route 52 at 9 a.m.-12 Noon.  

20-21-22: Franklin County Community Foundation will be sponsoring a Community Clean-up again centered around Earth Day.  Earth day is Monday, April 22, so the clean-up will be April 20, 21 and 22.  Please let them know if you would like to get a team together to participate.  Your team can participate any of the days and for any amount of time that you would like. Franklin County Community Foundation will provide gloves, trash bags and sharps containers for anyone interested in helping. 

24-27: Creekside Church will hold a benefit yard sale Wed.-Fri. (8 a.m.-1 p.m.) and Saturday (8 a.m.-Noon) at 11001 Bossert Rd. Corner of Highland Center and Bossert Roads. Furniture, antiques, clothing, jewelry, books, household, toys, games, crafts and holiday decor. All proceeds benefit the Grain of Rice Project. 

26: Arbor Day Tree Giveaway & Food Drive starting at 9 a.m. at the Franklin County SCWD office. Bring canned good items or a cash donation for 5 free trees to Franklin County SCWD, 10165 Oxford Pike, Brookville. Canned goods and cash will be donated to RedLife Food Pantry in Brookville.

27: Milford Township Fire Dept. Assn. Spaghetti Dinner 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Milford Township Community Center in Collinsville, Ohio.

 

June

8: All Day Family Fun Event with Rodeo. Craft Show 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. Bounce houses begin at Noon. Food vendors (no coolers permitted), live music all day and more. Rodeo begins at 7 p.m. Only 3,000 tickets available. Pre-sale tickets available until May 1st at Schirmer Service Center, Zimmer Tractor or Hilltop Restaurant. Held at Franklin County Fairgrounds in Brookville. Presented by Franklin County 4-H Fair Board.

15: Union County Sheep and Market Goat Show at Union County Fairgrounds. Check-in time is 7 a.m. - 9 a.m. Show starts at 10 a.m. Must show off your trailer. Generators are encouraged.
